SMEi Join the Red Nose Day Fundraising Race

Posted 29/03/17

The six hour television extravaganza has raised over £73 million for Comic Relief 2017 so far, with the total still rising. The star studded line up included Ed Sheeran, Mrs Brown, a Love Actually sequel, a Carpool Karaoke sketch which showed James Corden trying to help Take That break America and Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer interviewing Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid.

SME Insurance Services held their own fundraising event with bun sales, dress down, lucky bucket games, raffles, a competition for the best themed team, and “Get Your Own Back” where staff could sponge a manager for a small price.

 Red Nose Day

All departments took part in the theme challenge and dressed their areas accordingly. Tough competition came from the customer services team, who displayed some fantastic face paint to coincide with their animal theme and also from one of the sales teams who went all out for their Halloween theme. However, it was another one of the sales teams that was awarded with first place for their efforts as Disney characters, winning breakfast sandwiches the following Monday morning.

The action packed day saw the team raise a massive £568 and Marsh then offed to donate a further £300 taking the grand total to £868! Well done to everyone involved!
