Nail Technician Insurance

We specialise in catering for the insurance needs of the hair and beauty industry.

Nail technician businesses vary greatly, from running a mobile business to renting a chair in a salon or nail parlour. Whatever sort of nail business you run, your clients expect expertise, care, and a little pampering. So for their protection and your reputation, you need appropriate business insurance in case something goes wrong.

At smei, we understand that each nail business is unique, so we’ve designed a flexible policy that can be adapted to suit your specific insurance requirements. Our policy covers a range of nail treatments, including nail art, extensions, manicures, the cutting and shaping of nails, nail varnishes, and nail coatings.

We're passionate about championing the high street and helping nail technicians like Christine's Beauty in Prestwich, Manchester (pictured above). So whether you’re self-employed, freelance, or mobile, we can arrange a specialist nail technician insurance policy that’s personalised especially for you.

Other Categories of Business Insurance for Nail Technicians

If you employ staff in your nail business, whether on a permanent, casual, or temporary basis, it is a legal requirement to have employers liability cover.

Without your tools and equipment it would be difficult to carry out your job, so you need protection should they become damaged or be stolen.

Product liability cover provides protection should your client suffer an allergic reaction to a treatment, and if you run a mobile business you’ll need cover for your vehicle too.

Nail Technician Public Liability Insurance

Our policy only covers nail technicians with a minimum of two years’ experience, unless they’re supervised. However skilled you may be at your job, accidental snips, trips, or slips could see you knock varnish or acetone over a client’s expensive coat or designer handbag, leaving you facing an expensive claim. While incorrectly sterilising your tools could leave your client with an infection in their nail bed.

For this reason, nail technician public liability insurance is a key part of your policy. It protects you if a client, supplier, or member of the public suffers injury or illness, or damage to their property as a result of your negligence. Public liability insurance covers you for the cost of the claim, plus legal expenses.
